Manchester United ended the final home match of a miserable season with a comfortable 3-0 win over Brentford

It was a comfortable win for Manchester United, who hosted Brentford for the first time since the 2-1 League Cup final in September 1975. The Red Devils completely dominated Brentford, who until now had not lost a match with Christian Eriksen in the starting line-up.
Bruno Fernandes in the ninth minute, Cristiano Ronaldo in the 61st minute, and Raphaël Varane in the 72nd minute were the goal scorers for Manchester United. At the same time, none of the players from Brentford was able to score.
Manchester United got an early lead nine minutes into the game when Anthony Elanga made a quick run towards the flank and sent a cross towards unmarked Bruno Fernandes, who calmly sent the ball into the back of the net, dealing an early blow to the visiting side.
Soon after, Brentford launched a counterattack soon after, and Christian Eriksen tried to catch David de Gea with a quick shot, but David de Gea was well placed and made a comfortable save. The first half ended with a 1-0 lead for Manchester United.
Manchester United was energetic and constantly hunting for goals, while Brentford was a little off-pace during the first half. However, Eriksen was a constant threat for the home side, with his well-paced deliveries creating multiple opportunities for Manchester United.
The second half started with an intense faceoff between both sides on the field. Serbian midfielder Nemanja Matić was handed a yellow card after pulling Eriksen back with a shirt pull, while David de Gea was called upon to save the Brentford attack again.
Manchester United got a penalty in the 60th minute, which the record-breaking forward Cristiano Ronaldo slammed into the bottom left corner of the net with ease. Raphaël Varane scored the third goal for United after latching onto a corner from the Brazillian defender Alex Telles.
The match ended with a 3-0 victory for Manchester United.
It was the last Old Trafford appearance for Nemanja Matic, Edinson Cavani, Jesse Lingard, and Juan Mata, leaving Manchester United at the end of the season.
It was a brilliant display by Manchester United as they end their last home match of the Premier League season on a better note after a miserable season.
