Manchester City hero Kevin De Bruyne predicts how many goals Erling Haaland will score for their side
Erling Haaland is set to be joining Manchester City on July 1 and enter the ever-growing arsenal of players within Pep Guardiola's squad
Together with the Norwegian Erling Haaland, Julian Alvarez - whom the club signed on January 1 - will join his teammates for the pre-season.
His impressive goal-scoring record is a testimony that people worldwide are thrilled to witness Haaland's pairing together with Kevin De Bruyne.
The Belgium international holds the Premier League's joint assists record at 20 alongside former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry; however, there's a chance that the number could rise when they play together in the coming season.
Kevin De Bruyne has high expectations from Erling Haaland
Speaking in Belgium, Kevin De Bruyne said, “Erling Haaland is a top striker. His move should help us to grow as a team. Everybody expects a lot. They've always been looking for a number nine, but I think it'll be good to have that striker that maybe scores 20-25 goals a season."
The arrival of the new player is thrilling for English football after Manchester City fought off competition from Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain for him.
Haaland scored 86 goals across the 89 matches played by Dortmund, who hired him from RB Salzburg after netting 29 times over 27 games for the Austrian club.
Looking at how Haaland's arrival could benefit De Bruyne personally, the 30-year-old believes that there is a chance to increase but admits his chance creation is functioning at a high level.
The midfielder says that despite his assist figures not ranking among the top league, the 15 Premier League goals have powered Manchester City to another victory in the domestic league.
Erling Haaland breaks silence on Manchester City move
Norway forward Erling Haaland kept his mouth shut about his move from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester City. He joined the Norwegian national team for 4 Nations League matches in June.
The 21-year-old, with 22 goals scored in his 24 Bundesliga games during the last season, will officially become a Manchester City player from July 1.
He entered the news conference held on Monday in Oslo; however, he was not enthusiastic about discussing his club's situation.
"[The last few months] have been tough. This thing, it hasn't been simple; at the same time, I have been doing the best that I can for Borussia Dortmund for two and a half years," Erling Haaland told media persons.
Haaland added, "It wasn't easy, but I've done the best I can for the club. I'm ready for four games [with the national team], and that makes me happy."
Haaland expressed his sorrow at the passing of Super agent Mino Raiola on April 30. Mino Raiola helped him to move to Manchester City from Dortmund.
"It made things different. You can imagine; I don't have to say too much more," Haaland said. "But that's how it is. I can't complain, I like my life; I like where I am. I shouldn't complain," Haaland confessed.
