Liverpool sweat as they await Mohamed Salah contract decision
Mohammed Salah’s fans were in for a surprise when the Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp gave a statement saying that the club has done all it could to renew the Egyptian star’s contract with Liverpool.
Mohamed Salah is at the top of his game
Mohamed Salah is at the moment, one of the best footballers on the planet. He is currently the top scorer for the current season of the English Premier League with 19 goals. Currently, he is far ahead of rivals Christiano Ronaldo, Diogo Jota and Sadio Mané, each of whom have 12 goals each.
The Egyptian striker is a certified Liverpool legend and a charmer with the ball at his feet. From painlessly scoring to furnishing sensational assists, Mohammad Salah is a man of big stage performances.
Recent reports have revealed new developments in the negotiations for the renewal of Mohammad Salah’s contract. His weekly salary could reach approximate for 4,50,000 sterling pounds.
Mohammad Salah’s contract would expire after a year and four months on June 30, 2023. Liverpool is doing all it can to retain Mohammad Salah but there is a dispute between the two sides over the Liverpool striker’s weekly salary.
In a recent press conference, Jurgen Klopp said, “Of course, we cannot do much more, that’s how it is. I think meanwhile it is Mo’s decision, pretty much…I think the club did what the club can do. There’s nothing more to say about it from my point of view, it is exactly like it should be at the moment,”
Agent power and Coach's dilemma
The topic of renewal has been at the forefront for Mohamed Salah, Jurgen Klopp and Mohamed Salah’s agent Ramy Abbas Issa. Mohamed Salah wants a contract with weekly payments of 5,00,000 sterling pounds but Jurgen Klopp believes that it would reshape Liverpool’s fair wage structure with Mohamed Salah getting paid twice the average amount that his teammates will be getting.
It seems like Jurgen Klopp is not impressed with Raby Abbas Issa’s sarcastic response to his claims on Twitter on the debacle with seven crying with laughing emojis.
In October 2021, Mohamed Salah said, he would like to stay with Liverpool till the end of his career, but the decision was not in his hands.
As of March 13th, 2022, all parties involved have not made any decision about whether or not to renew Mohaned Salah's contract. It is still too early for that and it could go either way within the next year.
