The "LFC Heroes Club" offering includes illustrations of 23 Liverpool stars and their manager. It was created in collaboration with a Fine arts company, Sotheby's.

"LFC Heroes Club 1:1 Legendary Auction ?

    - 23 players & our manager

    - Enchanting one-of-a-kind animated artworks depicting the @LFC squad at their most powerful

    - 50% of proceeds benefit the @LFCFoundation

    - Minimum bid auction"

Liverpool has developed two categories of digital collectibles. Liverpool claims are part of their efforts to create NFTs available to their fans.

One is a set comprising 24 exclusive 'Legendary' NFTs. Another is a collection of generative "Hero Edition" NFTs that blend illustrations from multiple players to create an original digital collectible. There will be 171,072 of these Hero tokens available for auction.

The 'Hero' tokens will be "randomly generated" and only "revealed once the sale ends," an auction will take place for the 'Legendary' tokens.

The Premier League club said that possessing an NFT will allow fans to be part of an 'innovative fan community.' This would include access to a forum for community members and unique experiences, virtual hangouts, contests, and discounts.

They will also be available to purchase in three days of sale starting from 30th March through the 1st April. The sale will run and be managed using Polygon, a blockchain network that claims to be energy efficient.

Liverpool says that "the three-day sale will run and be managed on an energy-efficient blockchain called Polygon," however, analyst Alex de Vries told The Athletic that the opposite was true.

"If you are going to do something with Polygon, you are using the Ethereum network. It's as simple as that," the entrepreneur explained, and made Ethereum known for its energy use.

"Anything built on Ethereum will have a huge carbon footprint. Polygon absolutely cannot function without Ethereum."

In addition to the apparent danger for buyers, in terms of value declining in the wake of the purchase, it's said that their production is even, despite claims to be contrary, an "really massive carbon footprint."

It's not clear which 90 percent of the money raised from the sale of Liverpool's NFTs 'Hero' will be spent, nor will the other 50 percent from the 24 tokens of 'Legendary.'

“The @LFCFoundation, our official charity, plays a key role in giving back to communities around the world ?To show appreciation of their heroic efforts, next to allocating NFT proceeds to the Foundation @LFCHeroesClub also features 1:1 NFTs of key members ?”

“?❤️ 50% of the proceeds from the Legendary 1:1 LFC Heroes Club auction will directly benefit the @LFCFoundation, @LFC’s charity arm, in support of community initiatives around employment, schooling and inclusion.”

A report from The Athletic speculates‌ the club could make over UKPS8.5 million (US$11.1 million) if all NFTs go on sale.
