Liverpool defeats Manchester United 4-0
Liverpool won against Manchester United 4-0 in a Premier League match at Anfield Stadium on April 20, 2022. It was an easy win for The Reds.
Liverpool was extremely dominant over Manchester United from start to finish. They easily sliced through Manchester United's defense to score two goals in the first half. They had controlled 72% of the ball and 14 shots.
Luis Diaz in the 5th minute, Mohamed Salah in the 22nd and 85th minute, and Sadio Mane in the 68th minute were the goal scorers for Liverpool, while none of the players from Manchester United was able to score.
After receiving a perfect pass from the Senegalese attacker Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah sent a low cross in the middle of the penalty area to Luis Diaz. The 25-year-old striker sent the ball into the net past Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea with ease. Mohamed Salah doubled the lead for Liverpool in the 22nd minute after receiving a brilliant pass from Sadio Mane as he sent the ball into the net with a brilliant left-footed strike. The first half ended with a two-goal lead for Liverpool.
In the second half, Manchester United attempted to strike back but bore the burden of playing without five of their crucial players due to injuries.
Sadio Mane further increased Liverpool’s lead as he shot the ball into the bottom right corner of the net after receiving a cross from Luis Diaz, taking the score to 3-0. However, Liverpool did not stop at three goals, and Mohamed Salah scored his second goal to take the score to 4-0 with just five minutes left on the clock. The match ended with Liverpool emerging victorious over Manchester United with a score of 4-0.
Liverpool was in total control of the game. They had 72% possession compared to 28% of Manchester United and had a pass accuracy of 90%.
They took five shots on target while Manchester United just took one.
Liverpool will lock horns with Everton in a Premier League match at Anfield on April 24.
