Leicester City forward Ayoze Perez has joined Real Betis on six-month loan
Leicester City forward Ayoze Perez has joined LaLiga side Real Betis for the rest of the season subject to league and international clearance.
Perez hasn't been in the best of form this season, appearing just 13 times and scoring only one goal. However, over the course of his time with Leicester, he has been one of their best players.
Perez joined Leicester from Newcastle in July 2019 and was part of the side that won the FA Cup in 2021. The 29-year-old has made 114 appearances for the Foxes, scoring 15 goals.
The forward has been looking for an out since the summer after falling out of favour with manager Brendan Rodgers. The likes of Kelechi Iheanacho and Patson Daka were often chosen over him in his preferred number nine role.
The attacker has returned to his home country of Spain under new colours at Real Betis - and will be looking to regain the form he showed when he first joined Rodgers' squad.
His future at Leicester isn't entirely over yet, however, as he is only joining Real Betis until the end of the season. If his goalscoring prowess returns then he may well take over the helm at Leicester upon his return.
However his contract runs out in the summer so, if his performances aren't up to scratch, the Foxes may cut their losses and allow him to leave on a free.
