Carlo Ancelotti: 'I'm exasperated by Real Madrid's problems'

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti expressed his frustration after his team's narrow 3-1 victory over Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals on Thursday.

Despite overturning a 1-0 deficit in typical Real Madrid fashion, Ancelotti couldn't hide his disappointment with his team's performance.

"The commitment on the part of everyone and the bench is giving a lot, it is good to have players who can contribute," said Ancelotti.

"But it's hard to understand how a team that plays so badly in the first-half does so well in the second."

Los Blancos struggled in the first-half and were opened up by a lovely Atleti move, converted by Morata.

The game changed in the second half, however, as Real Madrid were able to get a foothold in the game thanks to goals by Rodrygo, Karim Benzema and Vini Jr.

Ancelotti credited the bench with the team's comeback, praising the impact of Eduardo Camavinga and Dani Ceballos.

Despite the victory, Ancelotti's last statement hints at a deeper frustration with Real Madrid's recent struggles.

The team has had to push itself to the limit in recent matches, even for some of the smaller fixtures.

In their last six games, just two of them have seen Real Madrid score the opening goal and score in the first half.
