Juventus is also in a race with Manchester City and Munich for Paul Pogba
Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is nearing his departure from Old Trafford, which has compelled many clubs to attempt a signing. Juventus have already made an offer to Pogba
At the same time, Bayern Munich is also reportedly interested in the French international, who will be available on a free transfer when his current contract expires in the summer. The French international had a challenging career which took off at Juventus early but couldn't stand out during his spell in Manchester United.
The club was facing problems with Sir Alex Ferguson, and once they worsened, the Frenchman departed the Red Devils on a free transfer to Serie A, where he regained his form. So Manchester United wanted to bring back the legend by offering a then-record transfer fee of £89million. However, Pogba failed to settle himself at Old Trafford and is now looking for a transfer again. Juventus wants to sign him on a free transfer, besides which Bayern Munich is also targetting the midfielder.
Pogba refuses to join Manchester City.
Elsewhere, reports also suggest Pogba could have joined Manchester City, but the midfielder has declined the offer owing to his devotion to Manchester United. Pogba might also join Real Madrid, as stated in multiple reports that imply such a move could be possible. Los Blancos changed their priorities recently and are not interested in signing Paul Pogba anymore. Instead, they are invested in improving other lineup areas where his compatriot Kylian Mbappe's presence might be crucial.
Bayern Munich and Juventus might be the top contenders in the race to sign the midfielder on a free transfer. However, Bayern is usually known for sticking to its wage structure, so it might not be able to appease Pogba on the financial front. On the other hand, Juventus has curated a package whose base salary is less than what the midfielder earns currently, only to be compensated by bonuses and a big signing on fee.
Bayern Munich might succeed with Pogba, but the midfielder will receive more limelight at Juventus.
Juventus wished for Thomas Partey to rebuild their midfield strength, but Arsenal did not want to offer the Ghanaian midfielder this summer. He is reputed to have been an expensive investment for the Serie A giants, while Pogba is a cheaper option. In addition, Pogba's time in Turin familiarised him with the Serie A club. Bayern Munich's offer might also extend soon because of higher chances of the club clinching silverware and a raised probability of achieving European success.
