Luka Modrić receives offers from Juventus and Qatar

The 36-year-old star will be available to speak with other clubs for a fee transfer as the 12-month extension he signed with Real Madrid last year is getting close to an end.

There are no official reports that suggest Luka Modrić has sought offers from clubs other than Real Madrid. However, AS Dario from Football Italia has stated that Juventus and a club from Qatar have reached out to the Croatian midfielder’s agent with their desire to sign him for the upcoming summer.

Both the clubs are reportedly ready to offer the Ballon d'Or winner a two-year contract, while Real Madrid is only prepared to provide one-year extensions as Modrić enters the final years of his football career.

Although Luka Modrić would be 37 years old by the next season, he has proved his worth in the recent Champions League match against Chelsea with a brilliant assist which helped Real Madrid get an upper hand. He is currently one of the fittest footballers on the field despite his age and has been insanely consistent with his performances. The Croatian has scored two goals and has five assists in the 2021-22 La Liga season as of April 16, 2022.

Real Madrid will face tough competition if they plan to retain their veteran midfielder. Juventus is hoping that the promise of a two-year contract will be able to help them bring Luka Modric abroad. However, it was earlier expected that the Croatian great will remain with Real Marid and sign another year-long extension before the end of the season.

Following the embarrassing loss against Villareal in the Champions League round of 16, Modrić will be able to bring a much-needed creative touch on the field for Juventus if he joins them. Despite the interest, he is unlikely to make a final decision until the end of the season.
