Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid miss out on Stuttgart's Konstantinos Mavropanos
Stuttgart has shut down rumours of Greek defender Konstantinos Mavropanos leaving the Bundesliga club, despite interest from Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid, according to Sky Germany.
"Inter has 'lined up' Mavropanos as a replacement for Milas Skriniar, but the 25-year-old is 'remaining at Stuttgart for now,'" said Sky Germany.
Mavropanos has been instrumental for Stuttgart this season, starting in 15 games and scoring two goals, as the club battles to avoid relegation. His contract, set to expire in 2025, has also caught the attention of Atletico Madrid.
Mavropanos joined Stuttgart on a permanent contract last summer after two seasons on loan from Arsenal.
The buyout option was triggered after the defender played a crucial role in helping Stuttgart avoid relegation, bringing an end to his four-and-a-half-year spell in London, where he was mostly loaned out.
Mavropanos made only eight appearances in an Arsenal shirt.
