Here are three things that made matchday two incredibly interesting and eventful:

#3 Goa FC's first victory in Kolkata against East Bengal Club

One of the biggest highlights of match day two was Goa FC's victory over East Bengal Club in Kolkata.

This is the first time the team has won a match in Kolkata, and that is also against East Bengal Club.

Till the last few minutes, there was very little hope that the team would emerge victorious; however, Edu Bedia's performance in the 94th minute brought the team three points resulting in Goa's victory.

Under the coachmanship of Carlos Pena, Goa FC won the very first game where Carlos Pena was coaching the team. This proves that the team holds incredible prowess and says a lot about Pena's coaching skills.

#2 Mumbai City FC's victory over Odisha FC

Another last week, was Mumbai City FC's surprising win over Odisha FC.

Though Mumbai City has never been a bad team, nobody had expected the kind of game that they displayed last week.

Mumbai City also played well last season; however, this season's performance was top-notch. They played incredibly well under stressful situations.

Mumbai City FC's second matchday victory holds excellent relevance because it highlights their competence and raises expectations from them in the upcoming weeks.

#1 Dimitri Petratos' hat trick against Kerala Blasters (first hat trick of the season)

Despite having a humble start to the season, Petratos and Mohun Bagan were in a different mood in the second match against Kerala Blasters.

Mohun Bagan gave a terrific performance defeating Kerala Blasters in their state, Kochi, in front of all the Kerala supporters in the audience.

One of the highlights of the second matchday was Petratos' hat trick, which was also the season's first hat trick.

Leaving Kerala Blasters' defence shocked and helpless, Bagan's strikers and midfielders scored one after another, leaving no scope for Kerala to recover.

Despite Kerala Blasters' more than satisfactory performance, Mohun Bagan hardly gave them any space to recover or win the match.
