With 23 points from 12 matches and the win, ATKMB move up to the third spot in the table while Goa remain in fifth place with 19 points from 12 matches.

Both teams played well in the first half, which was characterised by a lot of movement. The hosts dominated the first period and scored the first goal in the ninth minute.

Petratos provided a great finish by using a seemingly innocuous circumstance to his advantage. After getting up behind the Goa defence and receiving a throw-in, the Australian attacker chipped a sharp cross to Dheeraj Singh, who put the ball into the net and the Goa goalie, was slightly out of position.

Anwar Ali scored his first goal for ISL in the 25th minute when he converted a free kick from Edu Bedia after ATKMB had more chances to double their lead but failed to do so.

Hugo Boumous converted a pass from Petratos to put ATKMB ahead in the 53rd minute after they had fallen 3-0 behind in their first match against Goa.

Ashique Kuruniyan, who stole the ball from Goa wing-back Seriton Fernandes and set up Petratos on the right, was also instrumental in the second ATKMB goal.

The Australian striker had a chance to make it 3-1 in the 68th minute when he was set free in front of the Goa defence by substitute Lenny Rodrigues.

The Goa goalkeeper was at his mercy but Petraros ran into a corner and put his attempt on the outside net. The miss almost proved costly as Anwar Ali almost made it 2-2 in the 75th minute. The Goa defender was unlucky to see his attempt hit the crossbar.

ATK Mohun Bagan had another great chance in the 85th minute, but the scoreline remained unchanged as Ashique reproduced the costly error of sending the ball off an open goal.
