Indian Soccer League: Hyderabad close in on finals spot after defeat of ATK Mohun Bagan
Hyderabad FC secured their spot in the finals of Indian Super League 2021-22 by defeating ATK Mohun Bagan 3-1 on Saturday at the Athletic Stadium, Bambolim.
The match was led initially by ATK Mohan Bagan’s Roy Krishna, but Bartholomew Ogbeche equalized it with a goal in just before half time .Yasir Mohammad scored two goals later to complete victory for Hyderabad. J
First Half: Story of two half
The second leg match between Hyderabad FC and Mohun Bagan will take place on Saturday, March 16th. If they want to progress in the competition, ATK must score at least two or more goals.
In the first half Hyderabad FC squad was lacking key player Asish Rai's presence, Liston Colaco initially caused a lot of problems for Hyderabad FC Center Back Nim Dorjee Tamang and it cost Hyderabad FC dearly, Akash Mishra of Hyderabad FC appeared to be responsible for this mistake as he failed to mark ATK Mohan Bagan Roy Krishna properly throughout the match.
Man of the Match: Bartholonew Ogbeche
The fact that Bartholonew Ogbeche's commitment to control the game didn't remain fruitless for long as he scored a goal right before halftime. Yasir Mohamad's corner was not effectively intercepted by ATK Mohan Bagan creating an opportunity for Bartholonew Ogbeche to score.
The second half of the game became all about Hyderabad FC. They scored two goals within six minutes covering for their lackluster performance in the first 45 minutes. Mohammad Yasir scored a goal capitalizing upon Jose Luis Espinosa Arroyo collision with his teammate Sandesh Jhingan. Moments later, Javier Siviero got his decisive header from outside and settled victory for Hyderabad FC over ATK Mohan Bagan.
There was immense relief after being declared the hero of the match. Bartholomew Ogbeche believe's and mentions that there should be consistency throughout a football game and he is hopeful for upcoming matches in order to progress as a team.
