Harry Kane, Son Heung-Min Spurs dynamic duo
Son Heung-Min and Harry Kane are again leaving their names on the record books by beating Leeds United by 4-0 in the Premier League.
The duo has now scored 37 goals in the league after the last game against Leeds. In an interview with Son Heung-Min, he said that he is amazed by Kane's performance and has no words to describe the extent to which he admires him. "What more can I say about Harry?" Son Heung-Min told Standard Sport. "I think with any compliment, I’m gone. I can’t say any more about him."You can say ‘superb’, you can say ‘phenomenal’. It’s not enough for me. I’ve played together with him for a long time and I’m still looking at him and thinking, ‘Wow, this is unbelievable’.
While sharing a pitch in the league, Harry Kane has scored 99 goals and Son Hueng-Min has made 61 goals. With each other's assist, Kane went ahead to score 19 goals and Son with 18 taking their combined goals to 37. Out of 160 goals they've scored in the league, they've assisted each other in 37. Their tally beats the previous record of 30 goals, owned by Chelsea legends: Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard.
The duo has received incredible appreciation from the fans and Son Heung-Min is also in awe of his partnership with the legend, Harry Kane. He said, "So I think words are not enough. He’s just an unreal player. I’m really happy to work with him every day and playing together is a big honor. A striker is always scoring goals and a No10 is making assists. He can do both, whatever we need. And he wants to improve."
Their 2020-21 performance is still remembered when they made a single season record by showing 14-combinations assisting each other. While the same incredible form was not seen this season however, the recent match has added to their existing records. Last year also saw a few instances where the two assisted each other. They combined once again to seal Tottenham’s big win at Elland Road.
On being asked about the zeal to win the FA Cup, Son Heung-Min said, "It’s not just Harry! Everyone wants to win," he said. "To win a trophy you need to suffer a lot. I play for the win. Obviously I want to enjoy playing football but at the end of the day there’s a winner and a loser. This game is a long way from the FA Cup Final and every team wants to win."
