The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was the scene of a massive game between two rivals battling for the top four, and it was the hosts handled the occasion better to record their best league win in a North London derby since 1983.
Harry Kane's double in the first half put Tottenham ahead, and Rob Holding got the boot, giving their rivals the win. Son Heung-min added a third goal to complete the demolition just after halftime.
Harry Kane scores a double as Arsenal goes down to 10-men
The first twenty minutes of the match were fantastic. It was intense, physical, and evenly matched. Arsenal was a little more open than the fans expected, but they didn't lose any significant chances.
Harry Kane's double and Rob Holding's sending-off decided the game during a manic 15-minute period.
Kane gave Tottenham the lead with a nerveless penalty in the 22nd minute before Holding received two yellow cards and a red card for a challenge on Son, the second featuring a forearm to the face of the South Korean striker.
Mikel Arteta chose not to bolster the Arsenal defense after Holding was sacked, and the visitors quickly suffered.
Exactly four minutes after the red card, Emerson Royal nodded a corner into the path of the unmarked Kane at the far post, who nudged the ball home to make it 2-0 in the 37th minute.
Kane now has 13 goals in 17 appearances for North London derbies, a record.
Son Heung-Min makes it 3-0 to complete Arsenal Collapse.
Two minutes into the second half, Kane made Arsenal's woes worse, holding the ball in front of the goal and setting Son up, who then made it 3-0.
Son scored this goal to make it his 21st of the season. He is currently one goal behind Premier League top-scorer Liverpool's Mohamed Salah in the race for the Golden Boot.
Tottenham will now look ahead to the final two games, in which they need only one point more than Arsenal to finish fourth. On Sunday, Tottenham will face Burnley. However, one thing is sure: they won't enjoy themselves as much as tonight.
Tottenham (65) moves to one point behind Arsenal (66), who will face Newcastle United on Monday. They'll then face Everton, who currently are fighting relegation.
Arsenal will face the Newcastle side, who have been in great form until their recent losses to Man City and Liverpool. This is arguably the most challenging fixture.
Everton's only loss was against Liverpool in five of their last five matches. Arsenal will host Everton on the final day after recent victories against Chelsea, Leicester, and Manchester United.
