Former Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley a free agent after Nice release
Former England midfielder Ross Barkley will be a free agent at the end of the month as Ligue 1 outfit Nice have decided not to extend his contract.
<p>Former England midfielder Ross Barkley will be without a club at the end of the month after being deemed surplus to requirements at Ligue 1 outfit Nice.</p>
<p>Barkley's contract with Nice expires at the end of the month after leaving Chelsea to sign a one-year-deal with the French side 12 months ago.</p>
<p>The former Everton and Blues midfielder netted four times and provided two assists in 28 matches during his time in France.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, Arsenal winger will return to Arsenal following his year-long loan spell alongside Barkley at Nice. Full-back Joe Bryan will also return to Premier League side Fulham when his one-season loan agreement finishes.</p>
