Football Transfer News: Manchester United eye new target Ajax's Antony Matheus dos Santos

Manchester United's chasing after Frenkie De Jong made the headlines, and their newfound interest in Antony (or Antony Matheus dos Santos) is also gaining hype

Similar to the struggle they underwent before bringing De Jong, they deal with many complications around the Brazilian.

Ajax has now increased the price rendering United's latest offer of 'over £ 50 million' around £ 15 million short of the newly set price. So United are currently looking for other options, and it seems as if Erik ten Hag has issued a move for Bayer Leverkusen forward Moussa Diaby.

Newcastle was also interested in Diaby, but the Magpies recently decided to curb their interest due to Leverkusen's valuation of more than £ 50 million.

The 23-year-old still has three years left on his contract, so the Germans are in no mood to sell him, and United will now have to place a similar offer to Ajax for Antony. Reports also suggest Wolves attacker Pedro Neto could be another alternative for United.

Ronaldo demands United name their price

As far as football legend Cristiano Ronaldo, United are adamant about keeping him at Old Trafford and have maintained the same stance throughout the summer: he is not for sale.

Unfortunately, the 37-year-old wants to leave the club because of his desire to play in the Champions League. He needs to depart before the window closes, and his intentions were made clear when he arrived at Carrington this week, accompanied by Jorge Mendes.

According to the media, Ronaldo and Mendes beseeched United to set an asking price if the Red Devils are reluctant to let him go for free. He wants to be issued a price tag so he can accept a live offer currently resting on Mendes' table.

City target duo if Brighton fails to change their mind regarding Cucurella

Manchester City is currently expecting Brighton to reduce their asking price for Marc Cucurella, and it seems they have been waiting for a while now.

Reports suggest that there has not been an agreement between the two clubs yet. They were at a difference of around £ 20 million regarding their valuations of the Spain international.

Brighton is confident that Cucurella won't react if the transfer does not occur, although the player's agents are ready to compromise if it means confirming his transfer.

Now, City is ready to reorient its focus if Brighton does not comply, and the Citizens will then try to land Benfica defender Alex Grimaldo or Stuttgart's Borna Sosa.
