Football News: Manchester United willing to let Cristiano Ronaldo leave on loan
Reportedly, Manchester United is willing to let Cristiano Ronaldo leave for this season, but on loan. They want Ronaldo to extend his contract with Old Trafford by one more year and then return for the next season
The Portuguese star joined the club last season, and there were significant speculations about what the legend might do for the club. Despite his excellent performance, the club didn't qualify for the champions league and remained less in the last season.
Ronaldo wishes to leave the Red Devils this season and join a CL club; however, a compromise may be in order. Reports say that Manchester United is willing to let him go, but not ultimately. The transfer shall only be on loan, and the legend must return to the Reds next season. Although, who can tell what Ronaldo will be worth when he's one year older. Manchester United will probably continue with Anthony Martial this season and expect the Portuguese superstar to return next season.
Manchester United's negotiations with Barcelona over Frenkie de Jong continue as Harry Maguire shows no interest in Barcelona
Barcelona's negotiations with Manchester United over de Jong are continuing. Though the clubs have agreed on a fee for Jong's transfer, what is obstructing the deal is that the Old Trafford club has to pay Jong an amount of £17m in several instalments. The negotiations also halted after Barcelona asked for Harry Maguire in exchange for Jong and the Red Devils showed no interest.
Manchester United readily rejected the offer for Maguire. Not only Erik ten Hag, but Harry Maguire himself showed no interest in the request. Reportedly, Erik ten Hag has shown trust in Maguire and is of the view of keeping him as the captain despite his rough patch at the club. Maguire, too is willing to combat his poor form by staying with the Reds and proving his worth. Many believe that the insult and abuse that Maguire has received was uncalled for and that many big players have received much better treatment for worse performances. Despite all the turmoil against him, Hag's trust in Maguire is expected to give him back the confidence he may have lost in the club.
