Football News: Liverpool scout Joao Gomes, Leicester hold internal talks over Brendan Rodgers
Brendan Rodgers at Leicester City might be in danger after the embarrassing defeat against Tottenham 6-2 in the Premier League
Leicester's start in the league was not great as they're yet to win their first game. They lost six games and tied one.
After the last defeat against Tottenham, experts believe that the manager's fate, Brendan Rodgers, might be under scrutiny.
One of the reasons for Leicester City's underperformance might be the loss of Wesley Fofana, one of their critical defenders, to Chelsea.
While they lost a key defender, they also lost Kasper Schmeichel, one of the longest-serving players in the club.
With so many misfortunes surrounding Leicester City, the fate of Rodgers may be one thing that could change in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, in his exclusive column in CaughtOffside, Fabrizio Romano also spoke about the fate of Brendon Rodger.
"For sure, the situation at Leicester is worrying. Brendan Rodgers' future will be discussed internally in the next hours and days, no decision yet as of last night," wrote Romano
Reports say that Liverpool has recently been eyeing Flamengo's midfielder, Joao Gomes, for quite some time now.
Liverpool's midfield is weak now, and they could use some team revamping to bring in good midfielders.
Though Romano has expressed his interest in Gomes and said that he is a "very good player", no official offers or negotiations have been made yet.
Moreover, reports also say that though the Reds have been eyeing the midfielder with their scouts, they still believe that he may not be ready for one of the biggest European clubs.
"Liverpool have monitored Gomes with their scouts as many other top European clubs did, at the moment there's nothing else to this story, no official bid or negotiation," wrote Romano in one of his columns for CaughtOffside.
"I think he's a very good player but he needs some steps before being ready for Liverpool level," he added.
The mixed reports of the Reds being interested and disinterested in Gomes simultaneously have built curiosity among the fans to see the decision Liverpool takes for improving its midfield
