The Nizams are currently leading with 10 points from four matches. Meanwhile, the Gaurs are lurking in the fifth spot after losing their first match this season.

Hyderabad FC converted in the 11th minute, thanks to Javier Siverio's timely hit. He built his shot around an already dominant side as he received a header from Bartholomew Ogbeche and landed his response into the net from the left flank.

They thwarted multiple attempts by the Gaurs, including the one instance when midfielder Redeem Tlang launched the ball into the goalkeeper Laxmikant Kattimani's grasp.

Noah Wail Sadaoui broke into the first line of Hyderabad's defense but was far from hitting the back of the net. The second half started with Hyderabad almost converting again as a shot from Halicharan Narzary struck the crossbar.

Goa received another chance to equalise as a late penalty dropped their way in the 82nd minute. Akash Mishra zoomed into a high kick that failed to land in the net. Alvaro Vazquez subsequently took the spot-kick, but his attempt went wide, allowing Hyderabad to retain their lead.

An infuriated Carlos Pena called for substitutions before the additional six minutes added to the time. Goa frantically searched for an equaliser and almost succeeded when Eduardo Pelaez aimed.

Now, the Nizams will face second-ranked Odisha FC on November 5, while FC Goa will take on Jamshedpur FC on November 3.

ATK Mohun Bagan impresses in blockbuster Kolkata derby

ATK Mohun Bagan defeated arch-rivals East Bengal 2-0 to script their fifth successive win in the Kolkata Derby on Saturday.

Juan Ferrando initiated a change to the team that bested Kerela Blasters in Kochi. Subhasish Bose came in for Ashique Kuruniyan on the left flank.

ATK Mohun Bagan was a nuisance in the new 4-3-3 formation compared to Stephen Constantine, who sent in the same lineup that plucked three points against NorthEast United FC.

East Bengal almost drew blood in the 16th minute, but Vishal Kaith saved Thongkhosiem Haokip's header. It was followed by failed attempts by Jordan O'Doherty and Boumous.

The Mariners converted in the 56th minute when Boumous found a clearing at midfield and fired from a distance. The ball eluded Kamaljit Singh at the back and hit the net.

Ten minutes later, the winning team doubled their lead through striker Manvir. He responded to Dimitri Petratos' assist that deflected off Jerry Lalrinzuala's boot and trounced Kamaljit.

In the 68th minute, Kaith blocked O'Doherty's attempt, and Eliandro dos Santos powered through ATK Mohun Bagan's defence. Cleiton Silva found the ball only to be stopped by Mariners' substitute Lenny Rodrigues.

After the win, ATK Mohun Bagan climbed to the fourth position. They are four points behind table toppers Hyderabad with a game in hand. The Mariners will encounter Mumbai City FC on November 6, while eighth-ranked East Bengal FC will host Chennaiyin FC on November 4.
