The 25-year-old will replace striker Jordan Murray, who has departed the club. He is also the first foreign signing for Jamshedpur under new manager Aidy Boothroyd.

The 6'5' centre-forward will be a force to be reckoned with, although he is slightly young to be a striker. On top of that, he already has a decade of professional experience in his career.

His senior career started when he was 17 as he debuted for Queensland-based side North Star. The forward also played for lower division Australian clubs like Peninsula Power, Western Pride and Brisbane Roar (youth).

He was in the A-league side Newcastle Jets in 2017, played for Philippines side Davao Aguilas, and represented Hong Kong side Tai Po. Sawyer's side won the Hong Kong Premier League in the 2018/19 season.

He netted four times in 10 appearances in the title-winning campaign. Over the last few years, he has played in Australia for lower league sides like South Melbourne and Gold Coast Knights.

Sawyer's hold-up play, talent for shooting headers and link-up style will suit Boothroyd's style of play.

Wellington Priori comes back to Jamshedpur FC

Besides Sawyer's entry, Jamshedpur FC will welcome Brazilian midfielder Wellington Priori on a one-year contract. They have completed the signing, adding more depth to the team's midfield.

His 6ft 3inch tall stature helped the Red Miners in the inaugural ISL season, and four seasons later, he is back. He had playing experience in Brazil, Thailand and South Korea before signing with NorthEast United in 2016.

The next phase of his life involved the Red Miners and his successful goal-scoring run. He is remembered for his overhead bicycle kick against NorthEast United and a breathtaking volley against Chennaiyin FC.

Upon signing the contract, Wellington remarked that he was coming back to where he belonged. He had a fantastic spell at the club and is "thrilled to be playing again at the furnace before the loyal and passionate Jamshedpur fans."

He is looking forward to working with Aidy Boothroyd, whose experience, Priori believes, will help them succeed as a team. He is willing to work hard alongside his teammates and win more silverware for Jamshedpur.

Coach Aidy is happy to have Wellington back, as he has all the traits that make for a good midfielder. "He is technical, good with the ball, gets goals, and has experience of playing in the ISL," he said.

Wellington Priori will be seen in jersey number five and join the squad in Jamshedpur for the pre-season in mid-August.
