Football News: Cristiano Ronaldo will not play for Chelsea after 'cold-call'
Cristiano Ronaldo will likely move to Al Nassr as Chelsea might not be interested in the Portuguese striker anymore. The Saudi club are confident of sealing the deal with free agent Cristiano Ronaldo.
The 37-year-old striker has yet to hear back from Chelsea or Sporting CP in the last few weeks and is now open to joining the Saudi Pro League.
Ronaldo was looking to become a part of Europe's elite after he departed from Manchester United in November.
However, he is no longer desirable, and Al Nassr took advantage of the situation by handing out a three-year proposal that would pay him €200 million per season.
It is the only plausible option for Ronaldo now other than accepting another rumoured proposal by Al Hilal. However, Al-Nassr, the league toppers, believe they'll acquire his signature.
Ronaldo played matches for Portugal at the World Cup and scored only one goal from the penalty spot in their opening group stage match against Ghana.
Manchester United eye double transfer deal
Manchester United want to sign Croatian goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic and full-back Josip Juranovic before the January transfer window. Reports suggest that the Croatian stopper was already on their radar last summer.
The 27-year-old stood out with his performance for Croatia during their World Cup journey to the semi-finals before losing 3-0 to eventual champions Argentina.
Livakovic made a few exciting saves for the third-place-winning team that have seized the attention of Europe's top clubs. His arrival might end United's efforts to extend David de Gea's contract beyond this summer.
Erik ten Hag's side strongly considers keeping the Dinamo Zagreb stopper instead of the Spaniard. Meanwhile, Juranovic is also being linked with a move to Old Trafford.
The 27-year-old is expected to provide support to Diogo Dalot if he signs. The Celtic defender was one of the top players for his team in Qatar.
He provided defensive stability and also attacked the opponents at the same time. United are now competing against Torino, Barcelona, Chelsea, Atletico Madrid, and Newcastle for the right-back's signature.

Lionel Messi most likely to stay in PSG
Lionel Messi has given a verbal agreement to stay back in Paris Saint-German for another season. Messi's two-year contract with the Parisians expires this year so there must have been negotiations with other clubs.
It was also reported that Messi could sign a deal with MLS in the summer and join Inter Miami. His name has always been linked to the team owned by David Beckham.
Messi was supposed to be the highest-paid player in MLS history upon his successful move to Inter Miami over the summer. However, that plan is delayed for now.
Messi is still expected to retain his value as he is still at the top of his game. Argentina resurfaced from a tournament-opening defeat to Saudi Arabia and then won the World Cup.
It marked his country's first World Cup victory since 1986, which could further increase Messi's worth. He won the Champions League four times with Barcelona before he moved to PSG on a free transfer in the summer of 2021.
He netted 11 goals and secured 14 assists across 18 Ligue one and Champions League games in 2022. PSG face German champions Bayern Munich in the round of 16 this year after losing to Real Madrid in the first knockout round last season.
