Football News: Chelsea is now considering a double shock move for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Frenkie de Jong
Chelsea is allegedly negotiating with Barcelona about signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang before the transfer season expires
Chelsea has already signed Raheem Sterling, but Thomas Tuchel is looking to add another forward to his squad following the departure of Romelu Lukaku.
The Blues have now set their sights on the 33-year-old superstar as a potential option to lead the line at Stamford Bridge next season, according to Italian transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.
It is known that talks have already begun on Aubameyang's behalf, although Chelsea is yet to present a bid.
Romano wrote, "Chelsea are now considering Pierre Emerick Aubameyang as a potential new striker. Discussions have already started on the player side, but still no bid to Barcelona. #CFC

Aubameyang, well-known in England for his stint at Arsenal, is the latest attacker to be linked with Chelsea during a frenetic transfer window.
Aubameyang, 33, has 92 goals in 163 Arsenal games, indicating that he is a striker who understands where the back of the net is.
He's scored 13 goals in 23 Barcelona appearances so far, and it's clear that Chelsea is trying to buy a new No.9 in this window to fill the vacuum left by the decision to loan out Romelu Lukaku.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in Barcelona
Aubameyang wants to stay in Barcelona, but he is a player they are willing to let go to raise finances to register their recruits.
Todd Boehly, the new owner of Chelsea, met with Barcelona officials early this summer to discuss potential transfers.
The Premier League behemoths are yet to make an official bid for the former Arsenal captain. Tuchel, on the other hand, has a close relationship with Aubameyang from their time together at Dortmund, something Chelsea could try to exploit.
"He was a very important player for me and I still have a very close relationship with him. When we meet it's still always very, very nice. I can only say the best things about Auba as a player and as a person. I feel sorry for him that he's in trouble. This is not where he should be with his kind of quality and the positive character that he has – and I still believe in that." Tuchel spoke about Aubameyang in December last year.
Boehly will also push for a transaction to be finalised since he wants to provide Tuchel with everything he needs, including a left back, right back, centre back, midfielder, and forward.
So far, Boehly has not enjoyed the results he would have hoped during the summer transfer window.
Chelsea turned to Aubameyang after Boehly missed out on signing Robert Lewandowski.
Instead of joining Tuchel's team, the former Bayern Munich striker joined Barcelona for £42.5 million.
No bid has yet been made for the player. Still, talks between the clubs could be influenced by Chelsea's interest in De Jong as a surprise double swoop comes into play, with Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta's names also in the hat as prospective players to leave.
The Blues are attempting to use De Jong's precarious position at Camp Nou, with Juan Laporta keen for the player to accept a wage cut despite being owed up to £17 million in deferred earnings. Chelsea has been notified of the situation, and discussions are ongoing.
Meanwhile, with his 68 Premier League goals in 128 games, Aubameyang may be considered a viable option.
He also won the Golden Boot in the 2018-2019 season, sharing it with Liverpool teammates Mohamed Salah and Sadio.
However, Aubameyang's stint in the English Premier League ended when he was kept out of the Arsenal squad by Mikel Arteta.
