FIFA World Cup: Kylian Mbappe and Olivier Giroud are France's deadliest strike duo
The French contingent at the 2022 World Cup are excellent in every area, with top-tier players at their disposal. The most lethal of them is the attacking duo of Kylian Mbappe and Olivier Giroud
Both attackers played a crucial role for France in the victory of France at the 2018 World Cup in Russia. However, there was a suspicion that disagreements could arise between the two owing to their history of feuding.
However, Kylian Mbappe and Olivier Giroud have formed a very effective partnership over the last few months. The testament to this is the celebration after a pass by Kylian Mbappe allowed Olivier Giroud to score during their clash against Poland during the knockout stage.
It is an unexpected partnership considering their relationship was on the verge of collapse last year. Olivier Giroud should have been happy after he scored twice during the 3-0 victory of France over Bulgaria during a friendly clash.

However, the 36-year-old Frenchman was disappointed with his team's performance despite moving closer to breaking Thierry Henry's national record.
Olivier Giroud said, "I was a little quiet in the game because sometimes you make a run and the balls don't arrive. I do not pretend to always make the right calls, but I have tried hard to offer solutions in the penalty area."
Kylian Mbappe was not very happy that his compatriot had gone public for such a minor inconvenience and took it personally.
The 23-year-old forward said, "It is true that I was a little affected by it. It is more that he said it publicly than the fact that he said it. I saw him in the dressing room and he did not say anything to me."
Olivier Giroud made his Ligue one debut at the age of 24. Therefore, he has not been in the media's good books but is loved by his teammates at all the teams he has played with in the past.
Kylian Mbappe has already scored five goals at the Qatar World Cup and is in the race for the golden boot alongside Olivier Giroud and legendary Argentine striker Lionel Messi, who are close behind with four goals each.
The French national team have not felt the absence of injured forward Karim Benzema, owing to the deadly duo's excellent attacks throughout the tournament.
France are keen to win the World Cup for the second time in a row in Qatar. They will lock horns with Morocco in the semifinal clash of the 2022 World Cup at the Al Bayt Stadium on December 15.
