Liverpool was 14 points behind Manchester City in January, but the title is still within their reach as they head into their next match against Wolverhampton. So the team is looking to continue their bid for an unprecedented quadruple is still on for Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp's team is a point behind Manchester City as Liverpool welcomes Wolverhampton while City hosts Aston Villa, which Liverpool's great Steven Gerrard manages.

"Whatever happens this season, we have done ourselves proud," Liverpool midfielder James Milner stated. "All we could do is take it to the last game and we've done that." Despite the tough competition between the top two teams in the league, City is still prefered by fans who expect them to grab the title, which would be their sixth one in 11 seasons. The Reds are also gearing up for a Champions League final against Real Madrid on May 28. They've already won FA Cup and Carabao Cup.

Klopp does not think City will drop points

Jurgen Klopp thinks that a Premier League win for Liverpool is "not likely but possible" after the quadruple chasers continued their chase for the title victory with a 2-1 win against Southampton on Tuesday. After beating Chelsea on penalties in a gruelling FA Cup final just three days earlier, Klopp made nine changes at St Mary's. As a result, the Reds conceded early into the game as Nathan Redmond netted one. However, Liverpool converted with Takumi Minamino and Joel Matip as the heroic goalscorers.

    Aston Villa holds the key?

Manchester City will win the title if they beat Aston Villa at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday. Klopp revealed that he does not expect Manchester City to drop points against Villa over the weekend. However, Liverpool will mark their second win in three seasons if they beat Wolves at Anfield and City fail to win. "Of course, it is unlikely because City plays at home against Aston Villa, who plays only on Thursday. It is possible, not likely but possible. That is enough," Klopp stated.
