Chelsea's double swap deal to Barcelona involving Dest and Neto
It's been a couple of months since Barcelona has been in touch with the Blues and initiated talks regarding possible transfers of their players
They discussed players like Andreas Christensen, then Cezar Azpilicueta, and Antonio Rudiger. Now that Rudiger is in Real Madrid, Barcelona has other areas to consider, including their left-back position. Understandably, the club is interested in sacking Marcos Alonso of Chelsea for next season. Both Cesar Azpilicueta and Alonso are approaching the end of their contracts with Chelsea at the end of next season, so the club has decided to place an offer that involves sending both of them in exchange for Sergiño Dest and Neto Murata.
Barcelona to get rid of nine players this summer
The news also confirms a report that implies that the Blaugrana are ready to part ways with nine players this summer. Xavi Hernandez thinks Alonso is suitable for replacing Jordi Alba. Alonso has played top-level football and is also good at positional play. At the moment, Barcelona is being linked with more than ten other different left-backs, including Alejandro Grimaldo, a former academy player.
Azpilicueta is expected to join Barcelona, and the fact that he is a great defender adds fuel to the flame. As far as the other side is concerned, Neto might finally exit Barcelona, which has been on his mind for two seasons. Dest's departure is uncertain, and Xavi's remarks about him being a valuable player also mean he might stay back.
Granovskaia player wanted by both the teams.
Meanwhile, Granovskaia is reportedly looking to strike a deal for right-back Sergio Dest. Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is intrigued by the prospect of bringing the American and reportedly wanted the former Ajax man on loan in 2021. However, Barcelona chief Mateu Alemany has already visited London in an attempt to propose a deal with Granovskaia. Dest is currently valued at £20m, but Chelsea is reportedly targetting backup goalkeeper Neto, who might become a part of the deal. Meanwhile, Graeme Souness believes that Chelsea star Mason Mount has proved his caliber as a football star and silenced his critics.
Mount put on an impressive show against Leeds.
On Wednesday night, Mount was in his best form at Elland Road as Chelsea beat Leeds 3-0 to secure a spot in the Champions League next season. The England international struck the first goal through a top corner before assisting Christian Pulisic in the second goal. According to Souness, Mount's impressive gameplay and consistent quality have put many doubts regarding his skills at bay. He stated that there is nothing to doubt about him. Instead, his high energy, rigorous work ethic, tremendous skills, an eye for a goal and spectacular assists make him a top-level player. The 23-year old's contract at Chelsea is to expire next season.
