The 24-year-old performed exceptionally well in Serie A after leaving Chelsea at the end of last season. The 24-year-old has amassed 23 goals in 40 appearances across all events for Roma. He is expected to now return to England as a result of his impressive run in the Italian capital. However, the club is not willing to sell Tammy Abraham, who has developed a liking for Stadio Olimpico.
Will Abraham return to Chelsea?
Due to external forces, the possibility of Tammy Abraham's return to Chelsea hangs on a thread. The Blues found a way to take him back to Stamford Bridge for a lesser fee. A buy-back clause valued at around £67million was added to the deal that initiated the England Ace's transfer to Roma last year. Unfortunately, Chelsea is currently bound by financial limitations which imply that the shift might be difficult to pull through. It is to be seen whether Abraham will saunter back to the Premier League this summer or stay back at Roma. His contract with the Italian club will expire in the summer of 2026.
Tammy Abraham recently disclosed how much he admires his current employers who have helped him push his career forward and addressed his relationship with the fans of the club. "There was a low time in my career, Roma lifted me up and gave me that confidence. I enjoy it every time I step on this pitch. You can hear the fans from minute one and I’d do anything for this club. The fans love me and I love them,' he remarked.
Other Clubs Pining for the Roma Ace
Not only Chelsea but Manchester United is also ready to make big monetary efforts to capture Tammy Abraham. Old Trafford plans to offer a transfer fee of £76million for the same according to an Italian daily publication, Corriere della Sera. United are reportedly in search of a new striker who can replace Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani during the upcoming transfer window.
The former is expected to stay until the end of next season while the latter will depart when his contract concludes in a few months. There are talks of Abraham currently being linked with several Premier League clubs, including old side Chelsea, Manchester United, and Arsenal.
Additionally, Manchester City are are also interested in landing Abraham and will not hesitate to match United's offer if the opportunity arises before the commencement of the next season. However, fans are also wondering whether the defending Premier League champions will decide to seek Borussia Dortmund marksman Erling Haaland before shifting their focus on Abraham.
