Chelsea on brink of record-breaking Enzo Fernandez transfer
Benfica midfielder Enzo Fernandez is believed to be undergoing a medical in Lisbon ahead of a potential move to Chelsea.
The Blues are attempting to pull off a Premier League record £105m deal at the 11th hour of the winter window.
Chelsea's officials are said to be in Lisbon as they look to get the deal over the line.
Fernandez, who joined Benfica in the summer, has made 29 appearances across all competitions and also scored four goals. The player is also a World Cup winner after helping Argentina to the title in Qatar last month.
Chelsea have already spent big this month, although the Blues aren't about to put away their wallet just yet. The Stamford Bridge outfit have already splashed close to £200m this winter, bringing in the likes of Mykhaylo Mudryk, Benoit Badiashile, Noni Madueke, Datro Fofana, Andrey Santos and Malo Gusto. Joao Felix also bolstered the squad following his loan move from Atletico Madrid.
Should the deal go through, Chelsea would eclipse Manchester City's £100m deal for former Aston Villa star Jack Grealish.
