Bundesliga: SC Freiburg defender Philipp Lienhart considering his options
SC Freiburg defender Philipp Lienhart has acknowledged that he's contemplating the idea of switching his surroundings.
The 26-year-old player affirms that he's not prepared to depart to any team yet, but he concedes that he might be persuaded to test out a new opportunity if the appropriate proposal presents itself.
As a central defender who favors his right foot, Lienhart has participated in 32 matches for Freiburg during this season.
"For me it's clear that everything has to be right for a transfer. It's not that I have to leave. The club has developed so much that there are now excellent prospects, not only on a personal level, but also on a sporting level," Lienhart, who has a contract until 2024, told Sport Bild.
"I also know that my professional career is limited. That's why I'm already thinking about whether it's time to do something else.
"Because of my time at Real Madrid, I like Spain a lot. If an interesting offer came along, I would think about it. But it would definitely have to be attractive from a sporting point of view."
