Borussia Dortmund are on the verge of securing their new midfielder, with VfL Wolfsburg's Felix Nmecha expected to join the ranks.

Die Schwarzgelben are reportedly confident that the player will come on board, as talks regarding the transfer are nearing completion, according to BILD.

Coach Edin Terzic is an ardent admirer of Nmecha, and the club are hopeful that he can fill the considerable void left in midfield after Jude Bellingham's recent move to Real Madrid.

The Germany international, who still has two years remaining on his current contract with Wolfsburg, is rumoured to command a transfer fee of around €15-20 million.

While there have been links between Nmecha and Newcastle United as well as Manchester United, BILD suggests that the Manchester City youth academy graduate prefers a move to Dortmund.

During the recently concluded Bundesliga season, 22-year-old Nmecha emerged as one of Wolfsburg's standout performers, making 32 appearances under the guidance of coach Niko Kovac. He scored three goals and provided six assists.

Nmecha's impressive displays earned him his maiden call-up to the senior Germany squad in March, and now it seems a move to Dortmund is on the horizon.

In addition, Dortmund executives are reportedly keen on securing Edson Alvarez's services, but negotiations with Ajax pose a challenge. WAZ reported on Thursday that all parties involved are hopeful of making significant progress in the talks during the upcoming week.
