Bernardo Silva says City still in better position than Liverpool
Despite dropping points at Crystal Palace on Monday evening, Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva says his side is "still in a better position than Liverpool".
The Reds travel to Arsenal on Wednesday evening to play their game in hand which, should they win, will cut City’s lead at the top of the Premier League table to just one point.
Heading into last weekend, City were six points in front but Liverpool beat Brighton and City could only draw with Palace.
City are still set to host Liverpool too, with the game taking place at the Etihad Stadium on April 10, and speaking to Sky Sports after the Palace stalemate, Silva said, "We couldn't score and we should've scored.
"Nine games to go, but it's still better to be in our position than in Liverpool's and they have to play in our stadium so it's going to be exciting."
Silva continued, "It's never easy to play at any team away in the Premier League. It's always better to win than draw and we wanted to have an advantage of six points over Liverpool."
City were 13 points clear at the top of the Premier League eight weeks ago, although Liverpool, who were then in third-place, did have two games in hand at that time.
Despite this, Silva is unconcerned.
He told BBC Radio 5 Live, "We never had 13 points, [Liverpool] had two games in hand.
"Now it's four and they have one game in hand. We had very tough fixtures - Tottenham, Manchester United, Everton, Southampton, Crystal Palace. We're going to keep having difficult games. We're still top."
