Bayern Munich chairman slams Barcelona for 'offensively flirting' with Joshua Kimmich
Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer has slammed Barcelona for 'offensively flirting' with Joshua Kimmich.

Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer has hit out at Barcelona for their courting of Joshua Kimmich.

Barca coach Xavi made no bones about the club's interest in Kimmich when he spoke to Deportivo Mundo last week and even gave a mention to Robert Lewandowski, who swapped the Bavarians for the Blaugrana last European summer.

"He is a super top player, who understands the game in a fantastic way. If there is an open door, there will be a negotiation with Bayern," said Xavi

"I talked to him in Qatar, we met at an event and he said he was a fan of me.

"Barça move? He is under contract with Bayern so it depends on him - look at Lewy for example, he wanted to come."

His comments have not gone down well with those in Munich with Hainer suggesting Xavi has crossed a line.

"First of all, Xavi was an excellent player, and I have big respect for Barcelona," he said. "But I don't understand why they're openly and offensively 'flirting' with our player. Joshua Kimmich is an absolute cornerstone for us.

"Joshua is a leader, has won many titles with us, and will also continue to win titles with us in the future. He's firmly in our plans for the future and one of the players to build the team around."
