Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie set to join Inter Milan - report
Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie is reportedly prepared to join Inter Milan in a swap-deal involving Marcelo Brozovic during the January transfer window, reports Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla.
The 26-year-old Kessie joined Barcelona in July 2022 from AC Milan but has battled to settle down at the Catalan Giants and has not seen much game time under coach Xavi Hernandez.
When he has played, Kessie has not looked convincing and seems to be battling to adapt to the Barca style of play and environment.
What makes the Kessie move a distinct possibility is that Barcelona are reportedly looking to replace veteran defensive midfielder Sergio Busquets and a swap-deal would see Brozovic move from Inter to the Catalans, who could be the ideal replacement for the 34-year-old.
Inter are looking to use Kessie for his physical ability to team up with Hakan Calhanoglu in the heart of the Nerazzurri midfield.
This would be a complete turnround by Kessie, should the deal materialise, as he initially moved away from Serie A where he was a huge star at AC Milan, to deal with the new challenge of playing in La Liga for the Catalans.
The Pedulla report goes on to add that Kessie had two other offers but elected to go back to Serie A.
