As the summer transfer window approaches, clubs are in contention over the best players in all the major football leagues in the world

The Catalans have prepared a list of players they are targetting, with some of them becoming hot topics among fans. Here are three players who are expected to join Barcelona next season.

    Robert Lewandowski

The Bayern Munich striker's contract with the Bavarians will expire in 2023, but he is looking for a move before the 2022-23 campaign starts. Bayern is looking to extend their contract with the Polish star by offering a one year deal and are working to present a new deal, but the 33-year-old striker might not be on board. Bayern's reluctance to give up the striker has caused tension between the two sides.

Robert Lewandowski is not happy with the salary offered to him by the German club. Bayern Munich is financially in a weaker position after extending the contracts of Kingsley Coman and Thomas Muller besides proposing a plan to renew Manuel Neuer and Serge Gnabry. If Barcelona wants to land the player, the Catalan club will need to eliminate some of their players to meet the transfer fee of Robert Lewandowski.

    Cesar Azpilicueta

Barcelona has reportedly decided to sign Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta this summer. La Blaugrana is linked with a potential move for the Spanish international before the start of the 2022/23 season, and his future at Stamford Bridge hangs on a thread. After the UK government imposed sanctions on the Premier League giants, which does not allow them to welcome or offload any players until the end of May, the Chelsea captain's free transfer to Barcelona might be held off for some time. Barcelona is looking at a two-year contract offer, with a 12-month extension clause, as part of a €13m annual salary package. Azpilicueta will wait till the end of the campaign before deciding, as the Blues are targetting a Top Four finish and a possible FA Cup title this month.

    Andreas Christensen

Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen has confirmed his move to Barcelona on a five-year deal next summer. The Blues defender is a crucial player for Chelsea and is remembered for his terrific performances in the 33 appearances he made for the team this season. The 26-year-old has stayed in Chelsea since 2012, but his interest has waned over time, and now he has secured a lucrative five-year contract with the Spanish giants. He will be earning £21million across five seasons, and his salary after walking into the Catalan club will be around £4.2million per season – or £80,000 per week. It is yet to be seen whether Barcelona successfully landed the players they are targetting before entering the 2022/23 campaign.
