Barcelona and defender Alejandro Balde have reached an agreement for a new contract which will take the player through to 30 June 2028. The buy out clause is set at €1 billion.
With his contract extension signed, Alejandro Balde consolidates his position at left back in the first team. After arriving at Barça in 2011 as an eight year old, Balde quickly raced through the age categories in the FC Barcelona youth teams.
In the 2020/21 season he began to make his first appearances in the first team, making his debut in a friendly against Nàstic de Tarragona in preseason.
In September 2021 he made his Champions League debut in a game against Bayern Munich, coming on for Jordi Alba. The 21/22 campaign saw glimpses of his talent and in 2022/23 he established himself as a first team player and as first choice at left back. Up to now he has made 55 appearances for the Barça first team, 42 as a starter, scoring once and creating six assists.
