The wing-back has been outstanding for Frankfurt in recent seasons, and he was a significant player in their drive to win the Europa League in 2021/22, which they won on penalties against Rangers.

When the Bundesliga team won the Europa League, Filip Kostic was named the tournament's best player. The Serbians will not play in the famous match against the European champions.

Juventus has signed Filip Kostic for roughly €17 million ($17m/£14m), according to Eintracht Frankfurt manager Oliver Glasner, who confirmed the transaction on Tuesday. Under Massimiliano Allegri, the wide player might be used as a left midfielder or wing-back in Turin.

Kostic, who can play everywhere on the left side, leaves Frankfurt as one of the club's most admired players in recent years. He assisted in the Europa League final win over Rangers in May and was involved in 21 goals in all competitions last season.

Kostic had an outstanding 13 assists and seven goals in his fourth season at Deutsche Bank Park. Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krosche confirmed Kostic's departure and said he would be left out of the squad at the request of his potential future club, a subtle reference to the Bianconeri.

Manager Glasner doesn't hold a grudge against Filip Kostic

"From a sporting point of view, the fact that we are losing such a player is clearly a weakening," Manager Glasner said during a presser. "He was player of the season in the Europa League, which he deserves. I don't begrudge him that from the bottom of my heart. From a sporting point of view, it's a shame."

An announcement is expected this week since Kostic is already scheduled to arrive in Turin on Tuesday for a physical. The 29-year-old might make his Juventus debut against Sassuolo on Monday or against Sampdoria on August 22.

West Ham United had been widely associated with Kostic earlier in the transfer window, and the club had even held conversations about a deal in late July. With that transfer falling through, La Vecchia Signora was able to swoop in and sign some much-needed cover on the left side of their club.

Alex Sandro, Juventus' current first-choice left-back, has underperformed in recent seasons. The club also struggled to field a natural left midfielder all season. Adrien Rabiot generally filled in and never did well.

Kostic's tactical versatility will allow him to address both of those positions in Juventus' squad while also providing Max Allegri with the option of playing a 3-5-2 or 3-4-3 formation.
