Hockey News: Movements in Hockey World Rankings after Women's World Cup
The recent conclusion of the FIH World Cup on July 17 has slightly tweaked the Hockey FIH world rankings
The final between Netherlands and Argentina has made them hold the first and the second position with 3156 and 2715 ranking points, respectively. Next in line is Australia in 3rd position with a bronze medal having 2623 ranking points. Germany and England's performance at the World Cup has taken them to the fourth and fifth position with 2189 and 2177 ranking points, respectively.
India, holding the sixth position before, has now been taken over by Spain and Newzealand with 2143 and 2038 points, respectively. India has moved down two places and currently holds the eighth position. The ninth position is held by the Eves right above China which is in the 10th position with 1805 points. China was holding the 13th position before the World Cup and has now moved up three spots.
The eleventh, twelfth and thirteenth positions are held by Japan, Korea and Ireland, with 1693, 1649 and 1540 ranking points. Ireland has moved down to the thirteenth position. Chile's incredible performance at the World Cup earned them the fourteenth position, the highest position they've ever held in the FIH rankings, with 1398 ranking points.
Canada, USA and Scotland hold the fifteenth, sixteenth and seventeenth positions with 1377, 1313, and 1216 ranking points. South Africa has been taken over by Scotland, Italy and Malaysia, taking South Africa down to the 20th position with 1127 ranking points.
