Virtus.pro replaced by Fnatic at IEM Dallas
Virtus.pro have withdrawn from IEM Dallas 2023 due to visa issues with some of their players - Fnatic will replace them.
The organisers have confirmed that Fnatic will take their place in the competition as they secured fourth place in the closed qualifiers.
According to ESL regulations, when a team withdraws after the qualifiers but before the replacement deadline, the next team in the bracket receives an invitation.
In this case, Fnatic, an American team, earned the fourth spot in the closed qualifiers after OG, Cloud9, and Astralis, who have already received invitations or qualified.
In a separate development, OG was asked by ESL to replace an unnamed team for IEM Dallas 2023, with Iulian "regali" Harjau stepping in for Abdul "degster" Gasanov.
The tournament is scheduled to take place from May 29 to June 4 in Dallas, Texas, featuring 16 CS:GO teams competing for a $250,000 prize pool, a spot in IEM Cologne 2023, and a chance at the Intel Grand Slam Season 5 title.
Fnatic will join Heroic, G2, and ENCE, returning to the LAN stage following their performance in the Paris Major.
