South Korea LoL team wins gold at Asian Games
South Korea's League of Legends team earned a flawless victory by going unbeaten at the Asian Games to win the gold medal.
The all-star team, featuring the likes of superstars Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok and Park "Ruler" Jae-hyuk, won all eight of their games to claim the title. Head coach Kim "kkOma" Jeong-gyun expressed his joy after guiding the team to victory.
"It was a challenging two years as the national team coach due to the one-year postponement," he said, as per invenglobal.com.
"I had to sacrifice a lot personally for this role. Nonetheless, achieving a gold medal brings me immense happiness.
"Many around me discouraged me from taking the national team coach position. I had offers from several teams, but I turned them down to focus solely on being the national team coach. I may regret not joining a team this year, but I wanted to finish my role as the national team coach with dignity."
Chinese Taipei claimed the silver medal, while China defeated 2-1 in the third-place playoff to win bronze.
