Overwatch fans push for Blizzard to buff Reaper's grenades
There has been renewed anticipation among Overwatch 2 fans regarding potential buffs to Reaper's grenades after an old cinematic trailer resurfaced yesterday.
Currently armed with two powerful shotguns, Reaper enthusiasts are hopeful that these grenade changes will elevate his gameplay to new heights.
The resurfaced cinematic from the original Overwatch showcased Reaper utilising grenades instead of his usual shotgun pellets while teaming up with Widowmaker against Winston.
This nostalgic reminder led to a wave of pleas from Overwatch players on a Reddit post, urging for Reaper's grenade launcher to become a reality.
Although the "Reaper Grenade Launcher" never made it into the game, fans continue to dream about its potential impact.
The rediscovered video also highlighted other forgotten features from the first Overwatch teaser, including speculation about Winston's ability to throw allies and other heroes making full use of Widowmaker's grappling hook.
Regrettably, these early hero features may have been abandoned over time. Developers reportedly opted to exclude shotguns as Reaper's secondary fire, choosing to maintain Junkrat as Overwatch's primary explosive hero instead.
