Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok hits 200 League of Legends international games
T1's Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok featured in his 200th international game this week, a first for League of Legends.
Faker, who is a legend in his own right, made his professional debut in 2013 and gradually worked his way up to his LoL GOAT status, scooping three World titles, two Worlds MVPs, two MSI titles and no fewer than ten LCK trophies.
On Wednesday, T1 opened their 2023 MSI account with a win over MAD Lions. It was a nervous start for the LCK team, but T1 rallied to move to a 3-0 victory.
"It's an honour to be able to play 200 international games," the South Korean told invenglobal.com.
"I'm grateful that I could have so much experience. The previous MSIs featured one team per region, and there was some pressure. Now, I have a lot of experience on the international stage, so I feel less pressure. Also, to me, playing with teams from other regions is now very interesting."
T1 were particularly dominating in Game 3, needing just 16 minutes and 50 seconds to crush MAD Lions.
"When a game ends that early, the losing side's stance is important," he added.
"I think the game was short since they played extremely aggressively. Rather than us being aggressive, their style was very aggressive, and we just reacted to their plays, so it could have seemed like that. We always try to make the best plays possible, but I don't think it's playing aggressively."
T1 take on rivals Gen.G on Saturday.
