'Florida Joker' threatens Rockstar for alleged likeness use in GTA 6
Lawrence Sullivan, who is better known as the 'Florida Joker', has been threatening to sue Rockstar for using his likeness in the recently unveiled GTA 6.
The highly anticipated first trailer for GTA 6, released last month, featured numerous real-world references, drawing inspiration from various news stories in the Vice City setting, which mirrors Miami.
Originally seeking $2million in compensation from Rockstar, Sullivan has since upped the stakes, now demanding a staggering $10million for what he claims to be "suffering and pain" resulting from the alleged unauthorised use of his likeness.
Taking to TikTok, the Florida Joker set a deadline of 14th January, strategically three days after his own birthday.
In a cryptic message, he warned Rockstar that failure to meet his demands would result in him "breaking that kid out of the psych ward" and "hacking your system again."
Sullivan's ominous words appear to reference Arion Kurtaj, the teenage hacker convicted in 2022 for leaking an hour and a half of GTA VI gameplay. Kurtaj was recently sentenced to life in a hospital prison.
