Esports News: Skyesports to invest a minimum of $500,000 towards the upliftment of CS:GO and Dota 2 in India
Indian esports tournament organizers Skyesports have decided to work towards reviving CS: GO and Dota 2 in the country by investing a minimum of USD 500,000 for their upliftment
Skyesports have included popular esports titles Dota 2 and CS: GO as a part of the upcoming AMD Skyesports Championship 4.0.
Dota 2 and CS: GO have failed to gain significant popularity among the Indian audience despite their presence on the international esports scene.
Skyesports will invest the USD 500,000 amount in 2023. The first step will feature a Dota 2 and CS: GO tournament with a prize pot of USD 25,000. The event will be hosted in Mumbai in front of a live audience sometime around mid-December in 2023.
Both tournaments will be played in a LAN setting. The CS: GO tournament will have a prize pool of USD 10,000, while the Dota 2 tournament will have a prize pool of USD 15,000.
Skyesports is expanding the fourth edition of the AMD Skyesports Championship to Southeast Asia. The tournament will feature top teams that advance from the Indian qualifiers clashing with teams from Southeast Asia.
CEO of Skyesports, Shiva’Marvel’Nandy, tweeted, “Here we go!! First step. $25,000 for #CSGO and #Dota2. We will invest a minimum of $500,000 in 2023 for CSGO and Dota2 to uplift the forgotten OG games.”
Dota 2 and CS: GO have lost relevance in the Indian competitive esports scene due to a failure to attract significant viewership in tournaments organized by other companies.
However, both games still have a significant user base that plays regularly. Consequently, Skyesports has received a great deal of praise from the community for investing in the improvement of these titles.
The registrations for AMD Skyesports Championship 4.0 are currently open for gamers interested in taking their Dota 2 and CS: GO skills to a professional level.
The information about the registration details for the championship is avail at https://linktr.ee/skyesportsgaming.
