Esports: FIFA 23 was "accidentally" released on Xbox
FIFA 23, which was supposed to be released on September 30, was released accidentally on Xbox for a brief period
Many Xbox users received notifications asking them to play the game or update it, which shocked the players because they weren't expecting it to happen before its release date.
EA Sports hasn't commented on the reason for this mishap; however, it is clear that this glitch wasn't supposed to happen.
Now the glitch has been resolved, but it stayed for quite some time allowing many players to play it on Xbox.
The period for which the glitch remained was so significant that a player streamed live while playing the game.
This unfortunate glitch led to a whole debacle in the gaming community. On the one hand, gamers were excited to have had early access to the game; on the other hand, many were disappointed in EA for having made such a colossal blunder.
Some even asked the brand to make the game available on other platforms, making the situation equal for all.
One Twitter user tweeted, "People are somehow getting FIFA 23 on Xbox already. The game isn't even released yet and mistake #1 is here!"
EA's reputation is already decreasing lately, and this glitch has given gamers another chance to frown. Another user wrote, "So Fifa 23 is now playable on Xbox? EA should release the game now to make it fair for everyone still waiting to play the game. Classic EA"
One considerable controversy around this game leak is that the ratings of specific teams may have been released along with the game.
A Twitter user believed there could be a severe controversy if the released ratings stayed the same. "FIFA 23 isn't officially out yet, but somehow Xbox gamers have access to it. EA needs to do better fr. Also, predict there will be serious controversies over the leaked ratings - if they eventually turn out to be true," he tweeted.
EA hasn't made any comments on the controversy yet. It remains to be seen what they have to say about it.
