Esports: David Beckham’s esports team extends sponsorship deals with Samsung
David Beckham’s esports team Guild Esports has announced an extension of their partnership with South Korean electronics giant Samsung
Samsung has been appointed as the official TV partner of Guild Esports for the United Kingdom and Ireland zone as per the new one-year contract. The electronics firm will also be responsible for providing office space, backroom staff and hardware for Guild’s esports players.
Samsung has extended the sponsorship of Guild Esports that was signed last year. 75% of the deal’s value will be paid to Guild Esports in pounds sterling, while the remaining 25% will be given in the form of Samsung products.
The chief executive of Guild Esports, Kal Hours, said, “This is a resounding validation of Guild’s reach and value proposition by a world-class consumer brand. We look forward to working with them even more closely to deliver to our young and engaged esports audience.”
The former English football captain David Beckham-owned Guild Esports is planning to establish a new headquarter in Shoreditch, London, this year. Samsung will provide different models of Neo QLED TVs for the new headquarter and Guild Academy.
The new Guild Esports headquarter will be built in an area of 3,000m2(9,831 square feet). The marketing rights of the facility, content creators, influencers, Guild’s professional players and social and digital content will be given to Samsung.
Kal Hourd added, “Guild and Samsung both share the same vision for the future of esports. This partnership reaffirms our joint commitment to providing best-in-class technology and infrastructure, which are essential for the development of esports players at every level and the wider gaming community.”
The new deal has reaffirmed the position of Samsung as one of the seven significant partners of Guild Esports alongside other partners such as Razer, Bitstamp and Subway.
Guild Esports also signed a one-year partnership with Hyperice in July 2022. The deal gives the exclusive naming rights to the recovery room of the Guild Esports at its headquarters to the American technology manufacturer.
