Dubai to Host Global Esports Federation’s Global Esports Games in 2025
It has been announced by the fight edition of the Global Esports Federation that the 2025 Global Esports Games will be held in Dubai
It was previously announced at the Global Esports tour at the Dubai World Trade Centre in December 2021 that the United Arab Emirates will host the 2025 Global Esports games. The announcement by Global Esports Federation has now announced that Dubai will be the host city.
A delegation of officials from GEF officials and respective Presidents of the Turkish and Brazilian Esports Federations were present at the announcement.
Global Esports Federation has previously confirmed Istanbul in Turkey as the host for 2022 and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia as the host for 2023. However, they later revealed that China will host the fourth edition of the event in 2024, while the 2026 edition of the game will take place in Dubai.
CEO of Global Esports Federation, Paul J. Foster said, “We are excited to see the incredible progress since our signing of a Strategic Framework Agreement with Emirates Esports at Expo 2020 Dubai final November, to unlock alternatives and develop esports within the area.
The inaugural edition of the Global Esports Games was held in Singapore. It featured eFootball PES 2021, Street Fighter V, and Dota 2 with competitors from various regions. It is yet to be revealed what games the upcoming edition of the games in Istanbul will feature.
The Global Esports Federation also organizes the Global Esports Tour along with Global Esports Games. The tour is organized in cities around the world throughout the year.
The most recent edition of the Global Esports tour was won by the Swedish organisation Ninjas in Pyjamas. They were awarded USD 250,000 for clinching the CS: GO event title. The world will once again unite in Dubai with the city confirmed to host the Global Esports Games in 2025.
