Counter Strike GO: Everything you need to know
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is one of the most popular first-person shooting games. Hidden Path Entertainment and Valve Corporation developed this multiplayer game. CS GO was launched in 2012 and is the fourth one in the line of counter strike games
GAMEPLAY
One of the reasons for this game's success is that it is not a pay to win the game. There are various levels, but they don't affect the individual gameplay so much that a total newbie can kill a seasoned veteran theoretically. All players start the game with identical health and money. This money is used to buy various items in the current game like vests, helmets, etc.
The main task in the game is to stay alive and kill all enemy forces. But this doesn't mean that it's a simple shoot them up the game; instead, a player has to have an intricate knowledge of maps, positioning, apt usage of arms and grenades, and awareness of the game to come out on top.
GAME MODES
Overall, the game has six modes, but some are for casual gamers or honing your skill. The most famous is the competitive mode. This mode has seven maps and various levels. These levels reflect a player's skill level in the game, and often the player-matching is on this basis. The matches which are played on these maps are in Defusal mode. The game is of 30 rounds in which each team becomes terrorists and counter-terrorists for half the rounds to plant the bomb or protect the base.
The team winning 16 rounds first gets the game.
A minor game mode called wingman has exact gameplay, except it's a two-player team and a smaller map. Another popular mode of the game is the deathmatch mode. In it, players spawn repeatedly and try to gather the most points. Players do not have to buy anything in this mode.
Later on, Valve also decided to introduce some more modes under the heading War Games. These include modes like Demolition, Arms race, and flying Scotsman.
RANKS
There are various levels to gain in the game. This is done based on a player's performance as they earn rank points as per their performance in matches and level up. An efficient function of the ranking system is that players with similar ranks are matched for a game to provide as much level playing field as possible. The game has 18 classes, with Global Elite as the top one.
WEAPONS AND SKINS
The game has a wide selection of popular weapons divided into four broad categories - heavy weapons, Pistols, SMGs, and Rifles. Players also have a knife. Different weapon kills earn other points like a pistol earns 300 points while a knife kills get you 1500 points.
There are also multiple skins available in the game for each weapon. They range from standard to extremely rare and are very popular among the players. Although they do not affect the weapon's performance, they are much sought after and created the CS GO betting and gambling craze. You can get these skin from a wide variety of ways like from cases, skin drops, keys, buying directly or betting, etc.
CS GO TOURNAMENTS
This game is top-rated among professionals and has many active leagues and tournaments. Some of its matches have a considerable price pool, near $3.000,000. The primary reason for this is that the best CSGO betting sites provide this money as sponsorships. Some of the most popular tournaments include IEM, DreamHack, BlastPro, etc.
But the best of this lot is the CS GO Major Championship which has occurred every year since 2016 and has a minimum price pool of $1.000,000. This tournament lasts for around two weeks and has a massive viewership of over 1 million concurrent viewers.
