Yusuf Pathan's fight with Mitchell Johnson during the Legends League match
A high voltage heated argument turned physical between Yusuf Pathan and Mitchell Johnson
During the qualifier match between India Capitals and Bhilwara Kings, Mitchell Johnson verbally exchanged with Bhilwara King's batter Yusuf Pathan. He was even seen pushing the batter before umpires intervened.
Former Australia and India Capitals bowler has been fined fifty percent of his match fees for his actions in Qualifier 1. He has also been warned for being involved in a heated argument with Yusuf Pathan.
The video clip went viral on social media. It also showed India Capital players Denesh Ramdin and Solomon Mire, and on-field officials were also present in the vicinity of the players involved in the event.
It is said that following the opposition's attack, Mitchell Johnson tried sledging Yusuf Pathan, which left the batter irritated. The latter stormed towards the bowling end, giving rise to an argument.
Following the detailed investigation of the event where the bowler pushed the batter, the disciplinary committee headed by Legends League Cricket Commissioner Ravi Shastri decided on the fine and sent an official warning.
"What happened yesterday on the ground during the qualifier match shouldn't have happened. We have closely gone through the video multiple times before coming to any conclusion. I hope everyone gets a clear message that the spirit of the game is of prime importance and such things won't get repeated in this league," said Raman Raheja, CEO and Co-Founder of Legends League Cricket.
India Capitals will again clash with Bhilwara Kings in the final of Legends League on October 5, 2022, after Bhilwara Kings defeated Gujarat Giants to reach the final.
