    Another batting collapse for Bangladesh

West Indies skipper Kraigg Brathwaite won the toss and chose to bowl with one change, Anderson Phillip in for Gudakesh Motie. Bangladesh made two changes, Anamul Haque and Shoriful Islam came in for Mominul Haque and Mustafizur Rahman. Jayden Seales and Alzarri Joseph picked three wickets each, while debutant Anderson Phillip and Kyle Mayers picked two. Bangladesh was all-out for 234 runs, with Litton Das scoring 53 and Tamim Iqbal out for 46.

In the first session, Bangladesh scored 77 runs losing two wickets. West Indies bowlers failed to bowl in the right areas consistently. Bangladesh managed to tackle WI bowlers, but Tamim Iqbal's (46) wicket before lunch brought some momentum to the hosts.

In the second session, Bangladesh scored 82 runs for losing four wickets. Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan failed to score big as he was bowled for 8(9) by Jayden Seales. West Indies dominated the second session conveniently by picking four wickets. Two Umpire's calls went in favour of the West Indies as Anamula Haque, and Najmul Hossain Shanto fell LBW. Two hundred fifty looked to be a good score on this pitch. Litton Das looked excellent in the second session scoring 34*.

Bangladesh scored 75 runs quickly in the third session and went all-out for 234. West Indies made a good comeback after a tricky first session.

Bangladesh batting coach Jamie Siddons said, "Tamim and Litton were fantastic, but the fifties and forties won't give you enough runs. They need to go on when they get their starts. A couple of the younger players were really impressive but again, they got out. A couple of umpiring decisions were very close but it didn't go our way. But (after making) 230, we are struggling at the moment."

Aggressive start from the West Indies openers

In the first innings of the West Indies, openers showed great intent as West Indies ended the day with 67 for no loss. They played positively, scoring at 4.18 run-rate per over, trailing by 167 runs. Skipper Kraigg Brathwaite and John Campbell were unbeaten at 30 and 32 after day 1.

Bangladesh had a great start to the innings but failed to make it big. Tamim Iqbal had a good start, and Litton Das added a fifty, but the remaining batters of Bangladesh failed to impress. On day 2 of this test match, WI would be looking to score big and get a huge lead, while Bangladesh needs to fight back and get wickets in quick succession.
