He has agreed to hand over the captaincy back to MS Dhoni and lead the franchise.

"MS Dhoni has accepted to lead Chennai Super Kings  in the larger interest and to allow Jadeja to focus on his game," read the CSK statement.

IPL fandom has been all about MS Dhoni. His stepping down from the role of skipper came as a considerable shock to complete CSK fandom. The news before the inaugural game and back to back losses for the franchise didn't go well with the IPL universe. CSK got the worst start in this season. Dhoni helped CSK win the thriller in the previous few matches, and IPL also witnessed a sharp rise in viewership.

But now all fans' wishes have been heard, and Thalla is back in his most loved avatar of wicket-keeper captain. Fans will get to see him in the role back on Super Sunday in a clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad. The team is now required to win all the six matches remaining to make their chances of qualifying for playoffs.

"Stupid cricket with the bat", says skipper KL Rahul

On losing the toss yesterday against Punjab Kings, Lucknow Super Giants took the field to bat first. Punjab bowlers were stunning in taking eight wickets of Lucknow and restricting them well for a target of 154. Nobody except for Quinton de Kock and Deepak Hooda could build an innings. Quinton scored 46 off 37, whereas Deepak Hooda fetched 34 off 28 balls.

On the team's batting performance, skipper KL Rahul felt unsatisfied and said, "I was disappointed and fuming at the end of the first innings. Stupid cricket with the bat. "We need to get better with the bat. Half-time, when Quinny (de Kock) and Deepak (Hooda) were batting. They paced it well to get to 60 in 9 overs on a tricky wicket. Had we batted smartly, we could have gotten to 180-190," he added.

Krunal and Chameera steal the clinical win from Punjab.

Pacer Dushmantha Chameera (2/17) and Krunal Pandya (2/11) led LSG's bowling attack to grab a 20-run win over Punjab Kings, aided by the latter's recklessness. Krunal Pandya has been phenomenal this season. In the eight innings played, the pacer has grabbed nine wickets at an economy of 6.19 and an average of 18.56. This is by far his best IPL figures. Left-arm pacer Mohsin Khan also grabbed three wickets, conceding 24 runs.
